Since I joined the Reading MAG Group nearly 2 years ago now I have ................... - Been Moped Racing.
- Been to Belgium with at least 30 other UK riders.
- Been on the Fred Hill run to Oxford with hundreds of other riders.
- Been on a Toy run for Dr Barnado,s with 1000,s of other bikers.
- Taken part in 2 Charity Easter Egg runs.
- Taken part in a Bike Awareness day in Reading.
- Built this Web site.
- Attended numerous local group meetings.
- Visited other local biker groups (Vultures, BMW owners, Wycombe MAG, Windsor MAG)
- Met people from other groups (CMA, NABD, Patriots, Paaderborn Ladies Bike group, British Legion Bike group, Vultures and more).
- Attended the Thames Valley MAG AGM.
- Been on a river Cruise to assist in fund raising for "Help for Heroes"- (Charity to support forces returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.)
- Attended a biker funeral and rode in the escort convoy.
- Ridden out for a New Year's pub lunch with my son.
- Helped out on the gate at a bike show.
- Been a marshal at the Born Free Rally.
- Been to a number of good parties and have been invited to scores more.
- Drunk real Ale in local pubs discussing the finer points of biking and setting the world to rights - (It needs it).
- Attended a Breakfast BBQ.
- Belong to a group of about 35 Active bikers.
- Met loads of people interested in all sorts of biking from both the UK and abroad.
- Got discounted insurance services, cheap ferry crossings and discounts on gear.
- Supported Riders rights through MAG (Bus lanes, Free parking for bikes, suggested speed restrictions etc)
- Took part in a demo about the high price of petrol.
- My riding has improved by riding with other very experienced bikers, learned new techniques such as the "Drop off" safer group riding, better road positioning, and improved slow speed control.
- Met a couple of TV Gladiators (not sure if that,s a claim to fame or something to avoid
) - Promoted biking with 2 local MP,s Wokingham council and our MEP Elect.
- Being part of a team that makes a difference to the rights of all local riders - Bike Parking, Access to bus lanes.
